The contents folder is where AutoCAD Plant 3D keeps all its support materials such as catalogs, specs sheets, custom user-made scripts, and equipment packages. It is essential to know where on your computer this folder is located. You can know that information by one of the following two methods.
Method – 1
Launch Specs Editor for AutoCAD Plant 3D. Click on Tools from the menu and select Modify Shared Content Folder. It will open up the dialogue where you can find the location of your contents folder.
Method – 2
Go to your Windows registry from the Start Menu (or type regedit). Once there, navigate to the following registry key (copy and paste into the address bar)
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\Rxx\ACAD-xxxx\Variables\PLANTCONTENTFOLDER
The location of your contents folder is listed under the (Default) key
